Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences warmly invites international students and staff to take part in our Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP): “Re-adapt the Ruin” — an inspiring and practice-oriented programme designed to reimagine urban heritage and transform neglected spaces into thriving community assets.

🏗️ What is “Re-adapt the Ruin”?

This BIP focuses on the adaptive reuse of abandoned buildings, using innovative solutions in engineering, architecture, and urban planning. Through hands-on teamwork, you’ll tackle real challenges, learn from international experts, and contribute to shaping inclusive, resilient urban environments in line with New European Bauhaus values.

🧩 Programme Structure

💻 Virtual Component (Dates TBC)

• 5 interactive online lectures
• Collaborative design platform (MS Teams)
• Preliminary research & group tasks

🏠 On-site (October 4 – 9, 2025)

• Real-life design challenge inside a vacant municipal building
• Intensive workshops & group project development
• Expert mentorship
• Cultural experiences & site excursions
• Final presentations & feedback sessions

📚 ECTS Credits: 3 ECTS
🌍 Language: English

💶 Costs & Erasmus+ Support

Participants are eligible for Erasmus+ individual support covering:
✈️ Travel | 🏨 Accommodation | 🍽️ Meals

🎉 Cultural activities (excursions, welcome dinner, etc.) are funded by the organising institution.
