We are pleased to invite you to apply for an exciting international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) focused on Immersive MultiMedia and AR/VR development!

🌐 Programme Overview:

This BIP offers a dynamic, hands-on experience combining theory and practice in the field of Extended Reality (XR) — including AR, VR, and MR. The programme will focus on creating interactive and immersive XR solutions in areas such as cinematics, entertainment, and training scenarios using 360° video.

The event will be held in two inspiring locations:

• June 11–12: Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Valmiera
• June 13–15: Cinevilla Studio Backlot – Latvia’s very own “Hollywood”

🎯 Objectives & Highlights:

• Gain knowledge in hackathon organisation, XR storytelling, and gamification
• Collaborate on solving real-world challenges using immersive tech
• Learn Unity, Blender, and basic XR hardware use
• Work on team projects from ideation to XR prototype
• Choose your challenge track:
  – 💻 Code-Based (for those with IT/coding background)
  – 🎭 Storytelling-Based (for creative and novice participants)

• Strengthen collaborative and innovation competencies
• Learn to integrate sustainability and community goals into tech solutions
• Participate in pitching sessions and present your XR solution

🎓 Who Can Apply:

• Students in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning
• Bachelor's and Master's level

💻 Virtual Component:

Before the physical mobility, participants will join two online preparatory lectures and use collaborative tools like Discord or MS Teams for initial research and planning.

🗓️ Preliminary Programme:

Day 1 (Valmiera): Arrival, lectures, workshops, cultural event
Day 2: Problem solving, lectures, city tour, community discussion
Day 3 (Cinevilla): Travel to Cinevilla, technical sessions, hackathon launch
Day 4: Hackathon team-work, mentoring, expert sessions
Day 5: Final presentations, pitching, feedback, farewell
